Change that helps people keep more money in their pockets.

Help with rising energy costs.

  • Remove the HST from electricity and home heating bills.
  • Remove the HST from gasoline.
  • Set a weekly cap on gas prices.

Control public transit costs.

  • Equally share the cost of operating transit between the province and municipalities.
  • In return, require that municipalities freeze transit fares.

Improve pensions.

  • Strengthen the Pension Benefits Guarantee Fund.
  • Develop an Ontario Retirement Fund to provide a defined benefits pension for those who want one.
  • Work with the federal NDP for the expansion of CPP benefits.

Change that gets people working to grow our economy.

Reward job creators.

  • Give tax credits to companies that create good jobs and provide training to their staff.

Stop the corporate tax giveaways.

  • Over the past ten years, Ontario's most profitable corporations have benefitted from over $20 billion in tax breaks. But those corporations have failed to create the kinds of jobs that are capable of supporting families.

Lower small business taxes.

  • Reduce the small business tax rate to 4 percent.

Stop exporting our jobs.

  • Create jobs by processing Ontario's natural resources here in Ontario.
  • Ensure that public dollars support local companies and our local economies.

Protect our industries.

  • Protect Ontario's interests when it comes to foreign takeovers of our key industries.

Create better jobs.

  • Increase Employment Standards enforcement to protect people's rights on the job.
  • Increase the minimum wage to $11 this year and index that wage to inflation.

Change that makes healthcare reliable and affordable.

Cut emergency wait times in half.

  • Short-sighted cuts to services and front-line staff make it harder for you to get the care you need and, in the long run, do not save our province money.

Spend smarter on healthcare.

  • Cap public CEO compensation at twice the Premier's salary. That’s more than seven times what the average nurse makes.
  • Scrap Local Health Integration Networks and replace them with effective local decision-making.
  • Crack down on consulting and consultant expenses and give the Ombudsman oversight of hospital and health spending to ensure patients are being respected.

Give seniors the support they need to live in their own homes.

  • Fund an additional one million hours of home care, over four years, to eliminate the waiting list for home care.

Tackle user fees.

  • Start by eliminating ambulance fees.

Change that sets the right priorities.

Spend public dollars responsibly.

  • End the $1 million a day spent on consultants.
  • The recent e-Health scandal cost the public purse $1 billion.
  • Cap government CEO salaries for $80 million in savings.

Get on track to balance the budget.

  • Reinvest the $7 billion that was being spent on corporate tax giveaways, CEO pay hikes, and consulting contracts on the priorities that matter most to you.
